MARCH IS BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS MONTH - Oswego County designated March as Brain Injury Awareness Month to raise awareness about the devastating impact of this issue. A brain injury can happen in an instant and affects the lives of millions of children and adults throughout the United States. It is a contributing factor to one-third of all injury-related deaths in the country and the signature injury sustained by military members. Ample and early access to care greatly increases overall quality of life for those affected, while education and awareness enables family members and friends to play a central role in the treatment of their loved one. The Oswego County Legislature's Health Committee presented the proclamation and Traumatic Brain Injury Group Facilitator Shannon Morrell addressed the full Legislature.
