Oswego County Legislature Proclaims May as National Foster Parent Appreciation Month

The Oswego County Legislature's Human Services Committee presented a proclamation designating May as Foster Parent Appreciation Month to representatives of the Oswego County Department of Social Services' Foster Care Unit. Approximately 30,000 young people in the U.S. leave the foster care system every year without lifelong families. This is a call to action for caring and compassionate people to step forward and change the life of a child or youth in foster care by providing them with the security and stability that they need. Pictured from left are Committee Vice Chairman Tim Stahl, District 20; Thomas Drumm, District 16; Shane Broadwell, District 17; Committee Chairman Daniel LeClair, District 8; DSS staff Christine Patrick, Patricia Pennock, Rachael Pelow, Leanne Larock, Laura Peters, and Nancy Wright; Marie C. Schadt, District 19; Heather DelConte, District 18; Oswego County Department of Social Services Commissioner Stacy Alvord; and John Proud, District 7.
