The Oswego County Legislature recognized July 26 as Americans with Disabilities Awareness Day to help promote education about available services, resources and advocacy for county residents. The Legislature's Human Services Committee presented the certificate to members of Oswego ARISE to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This landmark piece of legislation ensures that people of all levels of ability have access to services, employment, transportation, accommodations, and telecommunications. ARISE works with communities to protect the ADA and reaffirm the dignity, independence and self-worth of all individuals living with challenges. For more details, go to www.ariseinc.org.
