Camp Hollis Offers a Variety of Options for Kids -

One Night, Day Camp and Week Long Overnight Sessions Offered for Camp Hollis this Summer

OSWEGO - The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is accepting summer camp applications for Camp Hollis on the shore of Lake Ontario. Open to youth ages 8 through 14, Camp Hollis offers a week-long summer residential camp experience for 9- to 14-year-olds, a week-long day camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for youth ages 6 to 12, and an overnight experience for 8-year-olds. All three sessions offer swimming, nature hikes, games, sports, arts and crafts, and many more activities.

Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.

Youth can now register for the one night, day only, and residential camp sessions. These sessions are broken down into three different age groups, beginning June 24 and running through Aug. 10. There will be several two-day, one-night sessions to introduce 8-year-olds to an overnight summer camp experience. Overnights for 8-year-olds are scheduled for June 24-25, July 1-2, July 8-9, July 15-16, July 22-23, and July 29-30.

Parents and campers who are interested in seeing the camp and talking to camp staff are encouraged to visit an open house and information session from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10. Tours may also be scheduled by appointment for those unable to attend the open house.

Admission fees for Camp Hollis are on a sliding scale. Families who may need financial assistance may contact the Youth Bureau for options beyond the sliding scale. Scholarships are made available from the Friends of Camp Hollis. Anyone wishing to support camper scholarships may send a check made out to "Friends of Camp Hollis" to Friends of Camp Hollis, P.O. Box 291, Oswego, N.Y. 13126.

Located at 40 Health Camp Road, off Lakeshore Road in the Town of Oswego, Camp Hollis is also available May through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations. For information contact the youth bureau weekdays at 315-349-3451.

CAMP HOLLIS SUNSET - Gathering around the campfire circle and watching the sun set over Lake Ontario is one of campers' favorite memories at Camp Hollis, the children's summer camp operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. The youth bureau is accepting applications for overnight and day camp sessions for the summer of 2018. Children ages 8 to 14 are eligible to attend the overnight camping sessions.
