April 19, 2019
The Oswego County Legislature recently proclaimed April as Fair Housing Month. The recognition supports equal housing opportunities and practices for all residents regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability, family status and nation of origin. To mark the occasion, children from across the county are invited to enter the annual Oswego County Fair Housing Coloring Contest. All entries are displayed in the county's housing office and the winners will be awarded prizes and shown at the Oswego County Fair in August. Pictured from left are members of the Legislature's Economic Development and Planning Committee: Paul House, District 8; Legislator James Karasek, District 22, member of the Oswego County Fair Housing Council; Committee Vice Chairwoman Mary E. Chesbro, District 10; Committee Chairman Tim Stahl, District 20; Oswego County Fair Housing Officer Scott Smith; Nathan Emmons, District 15; Roy E. Reehil, District 5; and Edward Gilson, District 3.
