On 11/19/09, Daniel A. Crouch, 26, of 3005 SR 48, Oswego, NY, was operating a 2003 Dodge pickup truck northbound on Red Schoolhouse Road in the Town of Palermo at 3:58 p.m. when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to skid with the vehicle’s rear end spinning around causing it to exit the roadway to the right where the tires dug into wet dirt at the road’s edge before overturning. The truck rolled onto its roof in a ditch filled with water, remaining submerged under approximately four feet of water. The incident occurred after Mr. Crouch stopped, then proceeded through the intersection of CR 45, reportedly accelerating too quickly for the vehicle’s tires to maintain a grip on the wet roadway. Unsafe speed and slippery pavement caused from rain appear to have been the contributing factors in the incident. Mr. Crouch was ticketed for Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent.
